LOWESTOFT & GREAT YARMOUTH - Area action plans

Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are two medium sized towns in the East of England. Their main economic base was the engineering and supply of the North Sea gas industry. Now that this is contracting, both towns have large areas of under utilized harbor areas, around 800 acres in each town. Urhahn Urban Design worked with Halcrow to prepare Area Action Plans for each town. Halcrow did the planning aspects and the overall management of the process. Luc Vrolijks led the design team, resulting in a preferred option design. Parts of the plan are currently being implemented by 1^st East, the Urban Regeneration Company for both towns.
