ARNHEM RIJNBOOG - Urban design of the Harbor Quarter
One of the key projects in the Arnhem Rijnboog project is the realization of a new harbor quarter in the center of the plan. The design of the detailed urban plan for this area is a joint production of Manuel de Sola and Urban Progress Studio. The project includes a new marina and sluice, other major public spaces as well as Arnhem's most important cultural functions and a mix of residential, offices and retail uses. The project comprises over 70,000 m2 of new development. The plan is drawn up in intensive collaboration with municipal services, private and public investors and community groups. A revised version of the plan was approved by the City Council and implementation is set to start late 2010.
